Protocols and Guidelines for Radiotherapy

From 2 October 2023, all radiotherapy protocols are now listed on the Thames Valley and Wessex Radiotherapy ODN website.

Thames Valley and Wessex Radiotherapy Operational Delivery Network (ODN) is one of eleven networks established to improve provision of radiotherapy in England. It links five radiotherapy centres and their satellites across Thames Valley and Wessex:

  • Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) which also hosts the Network infrastructure
  • Royal Berkshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RBH)
  • Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU)
  • University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation (UHD)
  • University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS)

One of the key objectives of the ODN is standardisation of radiotherapy clinical protocols across the Network to ensure patients receive the same standard of care wherever they have their treatment. All agreed ODN protocols are available from the ODN website.

The ODN serves a population of 5.2 million (2.3 million in Thames Valley and 2.9 million in Wessex). It provides comprehensive cancer services including a full range of radiotherapy treatments for adults.
