“All my colleagues at TVCA send you our thanks and best wishes over the festive period and wish you a happy and healthy New Year.
“As we say farewell to another challenging year, I want to thank you for your contribution to the work of TVCA and for what we have achieved together in cancer care across the region in 2021.
“I know that all teams in primary care, our Trusts, CCGs and ICSs, patient groups, and the volunteer sector have all worked exceptionally hard to ensure that patients remain our priority. As an alliance system we have continued to perform ‘top’ nationally in the 28-day faster diagnostic standard, achieving the standard since formal shadow reporting began. With the planned launch of the lung RDS pathway in Q4 we will seek to improve this position further.
“However, as we enter another demanding period, we understand the overall pressure within the system and the challenge in delivering cancer services. We are here to ensure you have access to all the latest guidance, data, and cancer support networks for you and your teams. To our primary care teams, we recognise the increase in demand you have had to manage alongside the vaccine programme and, again, we are here to work with you to continue to find alternative solutions that support primary care pressures.
“So on behalf of our CEO Dr Bruno Holthof, and our Clinical Director Jennifer Graystone, I wish you a restful holiday and look forward to working with you through 2022 to deliver our services to cancer patients across the Thames Valley region. Our diversity is our strength, and working together we will deliver our ambitious plans for accessible and equal cancer services for all people within the Thames Valley.”
