‘Equitable cancer care depends on listening to communities, understanding need and acting together’
The Thames Valley Cancer Alliance works collaboratively across the region to improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care.
Our strategies and governance arrangements help ensure that programmes are informed by evidence, shaped by communities and aligned to national priorities, including NHS England’s Core20PLUS5 approach to reducing healthcare inequalities.
Through partnership working, data insight and community engagement, we are committed to improving equitable access, experience and outcomes for all populations across the Thames Valley.
Our approach focuses on reducing healthcare inequalities for:
- the most deprived 20% of the population
- under served and inclusion health groups
- priority clinical areas where faster improvement is needed
The Thames Valley Cancer Alliance overarching equalities goals are to improve awareness, increase screening uptake, encourage earlier diagnosis and ensure equitable access to cancer care across our communities. View more in our Health Inequalities Strategy
