Clinical Quality Groups

Looking for a clinical protocol in a hurry?

Thames Valley Cancer Alliance Clinical Quality Groups (CQGs) bring together multidisciplinary professionals and patient representatives across cancer pathways. They provide clinical and strategic leadership to improve cancer services using an evidence-based approach, guided by National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) standards.

CQGs ensure coordinated pathways, consistent clinical practice, and high-quality patient outcomes and experience across the region, regardless of where care is delivered.

Role of CQGs

  • Develop and agree clinical guidelines and patient pathways
  • Use data to identify and address variation in care
  • Incorporate patient and carer feedback to improve services
  • Monitor performance against national cancer standards
  • Review risks and incidents to support shared learning
  • Support research and service development
