Have an innovation that could help diagnose cancer earlier, reduce delays, or improve productivity across cancer pathways?

The NHS Cancer Programme’s Innovation Open Call Round 4 is now seeking innovations that can support earlier diagnosis, improve pathway flow and productivity, reduce variation in care, and help tackle inequalities in access and outcomes. Funding is available to support the implementation, evaluation and spread of promising innovations across the NHS.

The programme is particularly interested in innovations that are already showing promise and could benefit more patients through wider adoption and scale. Collaborative applications involving NHS organisations, academia, industry and the voluntary sector are encouraged.

Applications are welcomed from organisations developing or delivering innovations such as:

  • Earlier detection and diagnosis tools
  • Risk stratification and case-finding approaches
  • Diagnostic and screening innovations
  • Digital, AI and data-driven solutions
  • Service redesign and pathway improvements
  • Innovations that improve capacity and reduce waiting times

Since 2021, the Innovation Open Call has awarded more than £39 million to support the adoption and evaluation of cancer innovations across England, impacting over 220,000 patients.

If you have an idea, pilot, service improvement or proven innovation that could transform cancer care, now is the time to start the conversation.
