New videos launched to support patients preparing for a colonoscopy

Thames Valley Cancer Alliance has launched a new series of patient information videos to help people prepare for a colonoscopy with confidence.

Produced in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the videos combine practical clinical advice with a patient’s first-hand experience of using Plenvu bowel preparation before their procedure. Together, they answer common questions, explain what to expect and highlight why following the preparation instructions is so important for a successful examination. Good bowel preparation helps clinicians see the bowel clearly and can reduce the need for repeat procedures.

The resources include a full-length video and five short films covering key stages of the preparation process, from what to eat before your appointment to what happens after drinking the bowel preparation.
