Genomics resources for clinicians

TVCA Genomics Education Day: 13 Oct 2025 — event review

TVCA and Macmillan’s Genomics Education Day brought together clinicians, researchers, and partners from across the Thames Valley and beyond to explore how genomics is transforming healthcare. The day offered an in-depth look at advances in cancer genomics, clinical genetics, and the growing role of precision medicine across specialities.

Led by expert speakers, Dr. Lara Hawkes, Dr. Pratap Neelakantan, Dr Mary Tanay, and D Bell, the programme covered everything from the fundamentals of genomic testing to its application in diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management. Sessions highlighted the expanding impact of the National Genomic Medicine Service, as well as practical insights on integrating genomic approaches into everyday clinical practice.
